PANETTONE

 Panettone is one of Italy's most anticipated holiday desserts.

From the Italian word panetto (small cake), panettone is a sweet bread cake typically offered during the holiday season throughout Italy and in Italian communities around the world.  Originated in Milan, panettone are dome-shaped cakes that are leavened with yeast and flavored with candied fruit, nuts and other confections. They are beautifully wrapped and make beautiful gifts.
